I did not get to see ALOT of these people due to "someone" thinking we needed to sit outside for the duration of the evening.. Epilogue

For the epilogue, I can now say that I have learned:
-Susie Heggeness doesn't properly remember events from the 5th grade
-Daren Anderson shouldn't go golfing with Chad's wife
-Never accept a warm Schmidt's from Sean Crotty
-Always get Glenn Butler to drive you home from reunion dinners, so you can safely get loopy
-Anna Isaacson is still game for climbing double bluff, and Jason Cooper is still game for breaking people out of jail to complete our soccer team (in other words, all is right with the world).

Reunion Highlights and Lessons Learned

1) I do not recall it being my idea to be called "Eunice" by Sean and Curtis M.
2) Never wear flat shoes in a room full of abnormally tall people.
3) Never drink vodka, rum, beer (thanks Chad), and wine without eating dinner.
4) Never tell a long story with a hangover, especially if you haven't told the story in at least 10 years.
5) Tim Leonard thought my husband and I were FBI agents. Close, Dan is an agent for the EPA. I guess I could be undercover as a high school teacher in Sultan...?
6) Beau and Curtis still make me laugh until my face hurts.
7) Dana and Mynda don't know how to spell "class". (Did you see the float?)
8) Dana can still fit into her freshman prom dress.
9) Our class still looks freakishly the same as in 1987...minus the big hair and stirrup pants.
10) Schmidt beer is still being sold in stores...or was Sean's beer from 1987?
11) It takes approximately 2.75 days to recover from a 20th high school reunion.

The things we remember

During this past reunion weekend of renewing relationships with those we grew up with, I found it amusing what each of us remembers most from those obviously impressionable years. For some it was the days in elementary school out on the playground playing Football or Red Rover. Singing Grease Lighting standing on the large log near the woods. Listening to Mr. A read "Soup and Me" every day after lunch recess. Learning to never ever dare Steve West to do anything you wouldn't want him to do like spitting in your mouth. Trying to understand why someone likes you, or later why they don't.
John Hoss told me he still has guilty feelings for clubbing me in the head with a baseball bat in the fourth grade. It's a good thing I don't remember that. Actually that may be the reason why I don't remember a lot things. One of those which I was also reminded of this past weekend ... crushing the feelings of a boy in 6th grade by breaking up with him in a note passed during class. Apparently that isn't the best way to go about breaking up with someone.
How about Camp Casey singing a little ditty about Kelli G out the dorm windows... there are some of us still feeling bad about that one.
However most of our memories brought lots of smiles and laughs. It was a great time seeing you all again. I can't believe 20 years went by so fast. It's nice to have classmates that are still such good friends and seeing you again was as though time has stood still. ~Mynda
